New Orleans police are seeking the public’s help identifying and locating suspects wanted in connection with separate incidents, a Mid-City computer theft and a French Quarter fight that ended with a large cut to a man’s arm.

Surveillance video from the Pearl Wine Company at 3700 Orleans Ave. in Mid-City captured images of a couple that police say stole a laptop computer from a woman’s purse. According to police, the man stole the laptop from a table near the restroom, hid it in his pants, then left the store with the woman. NOPD spokeswoman Officer Hilal Williams said the theft occurred March 7 at about 2:10 p.m.

Police ask anyone with information on the couple or the theft to call NOPD Detective Daniel Hiatt at 504.658.6010 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.

The NOPD also is seeking help identifying a man known as Bill or Billy, who was involved in a fight last Saturday at about 6:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Esplanade Avenue.

Police said the man was involved in a fight, which escalated into an aggravated battery by cutting complaint. The victim was struck in the left forearm by an unknown object, which sliced open a large laceration wound, police said. Witnesses helped police develop a composite sketch of the man who inflicted the injury and escaped.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the man to contact NOPD Detective Ernest Luster at 504.658.6080 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
